Right Stuff - the creative arts and other ‘right-brain’ working

In practice, as human beings, our lives are lived as a rich tapestry of thinking, feeling, sensing, intuiting. Whether consciously or not, we are responding to life through our minds, bodies, emotions and spirits. So that’s what needs to come to work and to create our communities.

At Wikima we are passionate about creating space for whole organisations and whole communities to choose their future and make it happen together. Likewise we believe it’s critical to include the whole person. To be honest it’s the only way to release potential and to generate genuine commitment.

While most western organisation cultures are pretty good at the logical thinking stuff, the other aspects of ourselves often need more attention. This is why Wikima’s work includes the focused use of theatre, music, poetry, visual expression, dance, storytelling, clowning, masks and other creative arts. Such experiences help people know what they really want and to create it. They access the ‘heart mind’, deeper intuition and wants of the people; bring a great honesty and clarity to what’s needed; contribute to freeing the spirit in an organisation or community; and deepen the connections between the people working together.

The Earth Wisdom Teachings and tools, which underpin so much of how we work, incorporate a natural balance between our thinking, feeling, spirit and action. Like the creative arts, the EHAMA processes create experiences through which changing relationships are truly embodied – going beyond being a good idea or thought, they become a part of who people are and how they relate to each other.
